Birds
Delv Ihoo consists of many types of birds. From predatory birds like the Nefuro to the more gentle birds like the Crowned sparrow. Depending on what bird, most small birds are not a prey source for Delvihen wolves but more so to larger birds. Birds to play important roles to the eco system of the island, as scavengers will get rid of left behind corpses, and smaller omnivorous birds will hunt down insects. They also play a role in decreasing the sizes of rodent populations. Birds too are treasured as summoning spirits, so it's not unusual to find bird remains being sold on markets. Birds are located all over the island with various species adapted to heat, cold and more.
Creature:Crowned sparrow / Class:Birds / Power:None / Diet:Granivorous / Family:Aves / Lifespan:1-5 / Status:common
Crowned sparrows are small but social birds that live in flocks of several pairs. Males have more colorful feathers which they will maintain in perfect condition in order to attract a mate. Once bonded they will stick together until either one of them dies. They are widespread as they can be found on many locations in Delv Ihoo. They rarely are hunted by wolves due to their small size, as one bird barley makes even a tiny meal. They spend most of the time looking for grains and seeds to consume. Males have a beautiful singing voice which can often be heard in early mornings. They have specific calls to warn fellow flock members for predatory birds that might be hunting them.

Creature:Kipcoet / Class:Birds / Power:Elemental / Diet:Omnivore / Family:Rallidae / Lifespan:1-20 / Status:Common
Kipcoets are native to the Lamua swamp where they can be observed walking in the shallow parts of the lakes. They forage during the day for fresh lake plants and insects. They live solitary and will only come together for offspring. When threatened they will fluff themselves up and hiss loudly. Males compared to females are known to be elemental, they have powers in other words. They too similar to male swamp wolves can light up specially colored dots on their comb. For this they will wake up at night so attract insects to feast on. To impress the females, they too will use this glow ability to stand out. Females compared to males are more darker which will aid them to blend in a little bit more. They have lobed feet which help push through the water. On land, the lobes fold back when the bird lifts its foot, which aids walking on land.

Creature:Casoes / Class:Birds / Power:Elemental / Diet:Omnivore / Family:Casuariidae / Lifespan:1-70 / Status:Rare
Casoes are a rare species of flightless birds that are native to the poison forest. While they live solitary for most of the year, it does seem like a male will protect females that reside within his territory. This means that if a female is hunted while a male is nearby, he will actually jump into action. Pair bonding briefly occurs during nesting and raising small chicks, and while they don't spend the rest of the year together females are known to have larger territories that overlap those of males so it's not unusual for them to end up with the same partner. Males are known to tolerate other male casoes, the reason behind this is that in case a female is hunted there are more males nearby. But when a female is

ready to breed, a male will no longer tolerate other males in it's territory and will fight to the death if needed. Males will preform a courtship dance as their bright coloration will become even more vibrant. A larger head crest also seems to attract females. The head crest can grow large depending on the male it's age. Poison wolves are extremely cautious with them, as both males and females have strong and powerful legs with rather large claws. When they attack they are known to jump and use their legs as a weapon. Males however are the most lethal, females are a lot smaller than males and compared to Delvihen wolves they are potential prey. Males on the other hand are really big and therefore can cause lethal damage. Poison wolves generally don't hunt large prey and therefore are not often seen hunting casoes, they only tend to hunt females if either they have many pups to raise, or if they find and ill or weak individual. Even so caution is required, unwary poison wolves have found themselves trampled by male casoes as they are extremely aggressive towards predatory animals such as wolves, snakes, and more. Because of this some poison pups sadly died. Before attacking they will raise their decorative back feathers as a threat. These feathers can become larger depending on the age of the male. Due to their nature poison wolves keep a far distance between them and these birds, wolves not native to the Poison Forest can find themselves in a lot of trouble if they encounter one of these birds. They are considered elemental as similar to poison wolves they have a complete poison immunity. It is also known that if they succeed to leave deep gashes that creatures with no poison immunity will become paralyzed. Their claws seem to have venom within them as tiny holes are present at the front of their claws which allows for venom to pour out if they attack. They spend most of their day foraging for food. They are omnivores and can be seen eating plants, seeds and even fish. They are known to walk in rivers and user their handy beak to dig up for smaller critters on the bottom of a river, such as small shrimps and crabs. While they don't hunt mammals or birds, they are known to eat from carcasses they find or from those they ended up killing. Their favorite food however is known to be fish.

Creature:Shimiri / Class:Birds / Power:None / Diet:Omnivore / Family:Anatidae/ Lifespan:1-30 / Status:Common
Native to the Toreiki Mountains, this bird can only be found near streams and lakes. Being a prey source of psychic wolves, they will usually stay near the water in order to make swift escapes. While they can fly, their bodies are heavier than most birds and therefore they can only fly short periods of time. They will also fly lower in case they run out of stamina to safely land. They mate for life, as a couple that is pair bonded will stay together till death. They will seek food within lakes and rivers, as they consume various water plants and fish. When bonded, the male will help build the nest for the female to lay her eggs. When a nest is made and eggs or chicks are present, females will be highly aggressive.

Creature:Nefuro / Class:Birds / Power:Elemental / Diet:Carnivore / Family:Strigidae/ Lifespan:1-28 / Status:Common
The Nefuro is native to the Seishi Mountains. They are active during dawn, dusk and night. They have big ears allowing them to hear the smallest of noises, and excellent sight. When hunting they are extremely silent, as even their wings can barley be heard allowing them to hunt smaller prey without much effort. They are wary of ghost wolves as they are seen as a food source. While they don't live in groups they do warn one another if a wolf is spotted. They will make long hoot like sounds which sound rather beautiful. This warns any Nefuro nearby of a potential predator. Nefuro's do not bond for life but will temporarily live together to raise chicks as the male will defend the territory and bring food to the female

and her chicks. During this time a male will be aggressive towards wolves who come to close. Having the power to send ghostly images of itself, it will confuse wolves to think there is a flock nearby even if it's just one Nefuro. Even if ghost wolves understand the trick, outsiders do not. If young are raised successfully the pair might hook up for the next generation of chicks as well. Unlike other birds they don't only have feathers but also have fur present on the back, chest and head. Due to their silent way of flying, ghost wolves did enjoy to have these as summoning spirits.
